Louis Xvi–Style Silver-Plated Coffee Pot – 19Th Century, 9 Inches

Description

A petite silver-plated chocolate or coffee pot of cylindrical form with a domed hinged lid, pronounced pouring spout, and a side-mounted wooden handle, 19th century. The body is encircled by crisp Louis XVI–style ribbon and swag garlands with tied bows, set on a reeded foot ring and topped by a bud finial.
The surface shows a mellow patina from use, while the silver remains bright with light wear to the plating; the wooden handle is slightly loose. Stamped V.S. to the underside.
This piece was once used to serve coffee or hot chocolate in a refined household, and today works beautifully as a decorative accent on a kitchen shelf or dining room console. A charming addition to any collection of antique silver.
