Rare 18Th-Century French Biot Jar – Authentic Provincial Earthenware

Description

This French biot jar dates to the 18^th century. Originally used to store olives and olive oil. The rim has a creamy yellow glaze. An iconic and wonderfully proportioned pot suitable for both indoors and in the garden. There is a makers mark stamped into the rim and the face of the pot is beautifully weathered.

18^th century biot jars can be identified by their more upright form than their younger 19^th century counterparts.
