Description
A chic English silver-plated Corinthian column table lamp by Frank Cobb & Co., Sheffield, dating to the early twentieth century. The form rises from a stepped square plinth with beaded edging to a fluted shaft and crisply defined acanthus capital, now paired with a gray linen shade. The silver-plated surface gives a cool, polished tone that catches the light with quiet elegance. Rewired for European use, it remains in very good condition with light polishing marks and gentle shadowing within the recesses.
Its cool sheen and architectural line bring a sense of structure and quiet refinement to an interior, anchoring a space with classical balance while remaining visually light. It pairs beautifully with antique furniture such as a Louis XVI console or a mahogany writing desk, where it reinforces period character, yet it also sits comfortably in a more contemporary setting, adding contrast and a touch of timeless elegance.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
